e-Mail Forwarding Information and Frequently Asked Questions:

The fairmountainacres.com e-Mail forwarding service that is available to all Fair Mountain Acres residents provides email forwarding to any electronic mailbox on the internet.

This process works the same way as when the US post office forwards your letters if you move, except it lasts for the duration of your membership in the Homeowners Association.

Every home / lot owner on record has bee set up in the format of:

firstname.lastname@fairmountainacres.com

The process is simple - Someone sends mail to you in the above format, and it is instantly forwarded on to your EXISTING e-Mail address.

The main advantages of this are:

  1. If you know your neighbors name, you automatically know their e-Mail address!  No more abc_1486@aol.com addresses to remember!

  2. If you change your internet provider, (From AOL to MSN or Bellsouth for example) you do not have to send out a new e-Mail address out to all of your friends and family explaining that you changed accounts and have a new e-Mail address - you simply tell ME, and I change the forward!  Everyone still sends mail to your "firstname.lastname@fairmountainacres.com" address, and it now gets forwarded on to your new account and no one knows the difference!

Frequently Asked Questions:

  1. Question:  Isn't this just another e-Mail account I have to manage?  I don't want ANOTHER account and password!
    Answer:  Forward accounts do not collect or store mail, they simply forward all mail to your EXISTING e-mail account.  It is NOT another account, and you do NOT have to manage it - there is NO password, as it only takes mail in, and forwards it on to your EXISTING account.

  2. Question:  Can I cancel my other e-mail service if you are providing this for me?
    Answer:    NO - You still need an ISP such as MSN, Bellsouth, etc... to get onto the net, and to have an e-mail account that your "firstname.lastname@fairmountainacres.com" will forward mail to.

  3. Question:  OK - This sounds GREAT!  What do I need to do to start using it?
    Answer:  I have set every member up in the format of "firstname.lastname@fairmountainacres.com" and that forwards to the e-Mail address we had on file as of the June 10, 2006 Homeowners Association Meeting.  Simply start giving out your "firstname.lastname@fairmountainacres.com" as your e-Mail address and there is nothing more for you to do unless you ever change Internet providers.  If that ever happens, just tell me your new provider e-Mail address, and I'll change the forward.

  4. Question:  I like the idea, but my current e-Mail address is just fine - I don't care to tell everyone about this new address.
    Answer:  That is perfectly acceptable, we will leave the forward on anyway (If it's OK with you) for our residents use and ease of remembering e-Mail addresses (See advantage # 1), But you do not have to give this out to anyone else if you chose not to.

  5. Question:  You do not have my e-Mail address on file, or the one you have is old or incorrect
    Answer:  Simply drop me an e-Mail (Kevin Cook) and let me know what you want the first name an last name to be, and where to forward it.

  6. Question:  My name is Robert, or William on your records, but I want my forwarding address to be in the form of Bob or Bill, etc...
    Answer:  Sure!  Just let me know and I'll change it!
